FOOD LION is loosing good customers with clean records because Telecheck likes to fish for additional private information. I am new in this city and have written several personal checks which have not bounced.

Telecheck rejected mine at my local FOOD LION because it is a new account with few checks. Telecheck did not ask me for my driver's license number which is how HONEST companies verify for bounced checks or a person's criminal history. Telechech wanted additional personal financial information which is what thieves and criminals like. We will not give it to them.

This partnership FOOD LION has with Telecheck is hurting FOOD LION's reputation and its workers. We will not purchase from FOOD LION until they settle this.

Monetary Loss: $200.

TO EVERYONE HERE..ITS NOT JUST TELE-CHECK. ITS THE COMPANY WHICH YOU ARE BUYING FROM.

THEY PAY TELE CHECK TO ACT ON THEIR BEHALF. LETS ASSUME YOU DIDNT HAVE A DIME IN YOUR ACCOUNT AND WROTE A CHECK. YOUR BANK CAN DECIDE TO PAY OR NOT. ITS ACTUALLY THE BANK WHO IS LOSING OVER DRAFT FEES.

AND UNTIL THEY DONT MIND LOSING. U CANT WRITE CHECKS WITH NO MONEY.

AND TO.THOSE WHO DO HAVE THE MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT, U BETTER NEVER GET.ONE OVERDRAFT BECAUSE IT WILL SET YOU TO WRITING CHECKS UNDER TEN BUCKS. THE DAY OF THE CHECK IS ALMOST OVER FOR CONSUMERS.

If Telecheck is stopping you from using funds in your checking account to pay a merchant, call the FBI and request an investigation into Telecheck for racketeering and extortion.

Also, call the Attorney General's office of your state. Your personal checking account is a financial agreement between you and your bank only and is protected by federal laws. It is extortion when a third party is forcing you to give personal information in exchange for allowing your checks to reach the merchant.

Stand your ground - do not give Telecheck any information - your are not required to do so by any federal state law. Call your state senators and district representatives. Merchants, you don't need Telecheck or others. Protect your good customers from identity theft. On personal checks, photocopy the customer's driver's license and if doubtful, call your local police for a criminal background

If TELECHECK suspects identity theft, why does Telecheck does not request the driver's license number? It is a far simpler and less intrusive method of verifying a consumer's identity which does not allow for data stealing.

A lot of stores use Telecheck. From what I understand the reason Telecheck refuses most checks is because they suspect identity theft.

Then you clearly have no understanding of how Telecheck operates.
